(En raison de ce verset, une tradition a commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 repr\u00e9senter M\u00e8re Marie avec une \u00e9p\u00e9e ou m\u00eame sept \u00e9p\u00e9es comme symboles des moments de douleur et de chagrin dans sa vie. Cela fait particuli\u00e8rement r\u00e9f\u00e9rence \u00e0 la douleur de Marie se tenant sous la croix de son fils Jezus crucifi\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Cette peinture avec un fond d'or et une m\u00e8re Marie en \u00e9tat de m\u00e9ditation nous rappelle les ic\u00f4nes peintes dans les r\u00e9gions m\u00e9diterran\u00e9ennes.<br \/>\nDe la fin du Moyen \u00c2ge jusqu'au XVIe si\u00e8cle, les traditions de l'art religieux de l'Orient et de l'Occident \u00e9taient encore tr\u00e8s proches.<\/p>\n<p>Ce tableau est probablement italien et a \u00e9t\u00e9 peint \u00e0 la fin du XVIe ou au d\u00e9but du XVIIe si\u00e8cle.<\/p>\n<p>Le panneau utilis\u00e9 par le peintre a \u00e9t\u00e9 cass\u00e9 et est restaur\u00e9 avec soin ; pour \u00e9viter qu'il ne se casse \u00e0 nouveau, un parquet est utilis\u00e9 \u00e0 l'arri\u00e8re.<\/p>\n<p>Cadre post\u00e9rieur de style gothique tardif.
