(Versione Re Giacomo). A causa di questo versetto, nacque la tradizione di raffigurare la Madonna con una spada o persino sette spade come simboli dei momenti di dolore e sofferenza nella sua vita. Ci\u00f2 si riferisce in particolare al dolore di Maria ai piedi della croce del suo figlio crocifisso Ges\u00f9.<\/p>\n<p>Questo dipinto con sfondo dorato e una madre Maria in stato meditativo ricorda le icone dipinte nelle aree mediterranee.<br \/>\nTra la tarda et\u00e0 medievale e il XVI secolo, le tradizioni dell'arte religiosa d'Oriente e d'Occidente erano ancora strettamente legate.<\/p>\n<p>Questo dipinto \u00e8 probabilmente italiano e realizzato tra la fine del XVI e l'inizio del XVII secolo.<\/p>\n<p>Il pannello usato dal pittore si \u00e8 rotto ed \u00e8 stato restaurato con cura; per evitare che si rompa di nuovo, sul retro \u00e8 stata utilizzata una parchettatura.<\/p>\n<p>Cornice di epoca pi\u00f9 tarda in stile tardogotico.
