Rifiut\u00f2 di modificare il suo credo cristiano, fu violentata e martirizzata. \u00c8 raffigurata con un agnello perch\u00e9 la parola latina per agnello \"agnus\" assomiglia alla parola greca per \"puro\". La festa di Sant'Agnese \u00e8 il 21 gennaio.<\/p>\n<p>Questa statua \u00e8 stata realizzata intorno al 1870 da un abile artigiano, probabilmente per una chiesa o un chiostro.
