Finely executed antique Russian icon depicting ’the Protecting Veil (Pokrov) of the Mother of God’.
The silver background, covered by a golden lacquer, is decorated with architectural elements. A nice detail are the two icons that are depicted in the background.
Russia, first half 19th century.
32 x 26 x 2,5 cm.
In fairly good condition, would benefit from a small restoration (cleaning etc.)
